Seller guidelines

At Seventh Square, we aim to provide a reliable, transparent, and efficient merchant platform. We continuously work to improve the selling experience while ensuring a fair and trustworthy environment for both buyers and sellers.

All sellers are expected to follow the seller code of conduct outlined below. Any violation of these guidelines may result in actions including, but not limited to, restriction or loss of selling privileges and suspension or termination of the seller account.

Legal and policy compliance

  • Adhere to all applicable local, state, and national laws and regulations.
  • Comply with all Seventh Square policies, terms, and platform guidelines at all times.

Account integrity

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date account information.
  • Ensure that all business details shared on the platform are correct and verifiable.
  • Never misrepresent your identity, business, products, or services

Confidentiality and intellectual property

  • Maintain the confidentiality of all non-public information related to Seventh Square.
  • Do not disclose or misuse any confidential, sensitive, or proprietary information.
  • Never use Seventh Square's intellectual property without prior written permission.
  • Intellectual property includes, but is not limited to, trademarks, patents, copyrights, designs, content, domain names, know-how, technology, brands, operational data, budgets, and business plans.

Product quality, authenticity, and accurate listings

  • Ensure that all products listed are genuine, safe, and meet applicable quality and regulatory standards.
  • Counterfeit, fake, or substandard products are strictly prohibited.
  • All listings must have accurate titles, descriptions, specifications, and images.

Accurate pricing and promotions

  • Always list accurate prices, discounts, and promotional offers.
  • Avoid misleading pricing, fake discounts, or promotional manipulation.

Order fulfilment and communication

  • Ensure all orders are processed and shipped on time as per the committed handling time.
  • Avoid cancellations or delays unless unavoidable, and promptly inform buyers in such cases.
  • Pack products securely to prevent damage during transit.
  • Respond to buyer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.

Seller packaging guidelines:

  • Use strong, good-quality corrugated boxes suitable for the product weight.
  • Wrap fragile items with bubble wrap, foam, or protective padding.
  • Fill empty spaces with cushioning material to avoid movement inside the box.
  • Seal all edges properly with durable packing tape.
  • Use a waterproof covering or plastic wrap for moisture-sensitive products.
  • Add “Fragile” or “Handle with Care” labels where required.
  • For heavy or electrical products, use original brand packaging whenever possible.
  • Ensure product accessories, invoices, and manuals are packed securely inside.

Customer safety and trust

  • Always act in a manner that ensures a safe, fair, and trustworthy experience for customers.
  • Never list products that may cause harm, pose safety risks, or violate applicable laws or standards.

Ethical business practices

  • Never engage in unethical dealings with any company associate, employee, affiliate, partner, seller, or customer.
  • Unethical dealings include, but are not limited to, bribery, corruption, collusion with buyers or users, manipulation, or malpractice of any kind

Appropriate conduct and communication

Never engage in misleading, inappropriate, or offensive behaviour. This applies to all your activities on Seventh Square, including:

  • The information shared in your seller account
  • Product listings, descriptions, content, and images
  • All communication with Seventh Square team and customers

Fair marketplace behaviour

  • Act fairly and responsibly at all times.
  • Do not engage in behaviour that manipulates or attempts to “game” any part of the buying or selling experience.
  • Do not manipulate customer reviews or ratings, directly or indirectly, by posting or encouraging false, misleading, or inauthentic content.
  • Do not attempt to manipulate search visibility, rankings, pricing, or sales performance on the platform.
  • Do not take actions intended to harm other sellers, their listings, or their ratings.

Multiple seller accounts

  • Maintain only one seller account per region in which you sell.
  • Multiple accounts are permitted only if there is a legitimate business requirement and all accounts remain in good standing.
  • Legitimate business justifications may include:
    • Ownership of multiple brands operated as separate businesses.
    • Manufacturing or supplying products for two distinct and independent companies
